Most parents have the dilemma on how they will achieve a healthy eating for their kids. Children have very wide preferences, when it comes to foods. Unfortunately, their choices are not always considered as healthy and nutritious. Kids of different ages mostly preferred junk foods as their snacks; while choosing to eat almost the same roster of foods, for say, a week. They are not absolutely getting all the nutrients they need.
So, here are the usual tips to get your kids into healthy eating:
1. You have to understand the ever-changing moods of your child. There are times when he would not want to eat, even if it is already meal time. Try to get involved with his activity at the particular moment, and gradually observe his hunger in the duration of the said playtime. This is only the time you can prepare food for him. Never force your child to eat. It will just aggravate the simple problem because the kid will think that you are not respecting and understanding his side.
2. Manage to stay calm, even if your child is becoming disobedient already.
3. Prepare juice and snacks at least an hour prior to each and every meal. This will motivate the kid even further to enjoy his meal.
4. Be sure to understand your child's reduced appetite. Most children just need few bites in their foods to fill their hunger.
5. Finally, start preparing small portions of food to your child; and allow him to choose the food he wants.
